I think that would depend on the indicator and how you are using it. I have found that the way in which I use most of my tools results in more reliable signals above the 1 min. On the other hand, I have also designed indicators that work almost exclusively in the 1 min.
Depending on what you are trading and the type of day, the problem may just be a question of sensitivity. An indicator that requires greater qualification may work to filter the original.
