I'm doing a story on day trading and looking for input

Hello:

I'm a freelance reporter doing a story on day trading and looking for general experiences and advice (not specific strategies or "secrets") from a trader who used to work at a large trading firm (please identify which one if this applies to you) but now trades on your own as well as the same type of input from independent traders who may have lost money but consider themselves part time or "amateur" traders. I'll also ask that I can use your screen name (you can remain anonymous) and link to your post for the story.
What would you suggest to those looking to trade or just starting to day trade? Thanks.

Consider what Dave Ramsey says;
'' 80% lose''. I would not have guessed 20% make it\ but DAVE Ramsey is right so much about finance , have to consider that........

google "chat with traders", there're a lot of podcasts that you can listen to gather data + market wizard books. there was also a paper written about day trading in Taiwan with data that show 87-90% failure rate (it might be taken offline).

I think he's just a troll. We will see what @Robert Morse says. Apparently he's received the guy's LinkedIn profile and a direct email.

Think alike.

He's written around 100 words,
There's barely 3 punctuation marks.

Maybe he's just starting out,
But I'd not expect this kind of behavior, coming from a reporter.

Not always easy to fake it !

I think he is legit, because of this sentence:

"Input from independent traders who may have lost money but consider themselves part time or "amateur" traders"

A troll would not be that polite with losers. He is certainly aiming at the vast majority.
And I think he might be onto something. There's no shortage of books about "successful" day traders but we've never really had a compendium of losers. And it's likely to be more believable than all the self-promoting trading wizards.

right.

It is not easy to be a professional trader.

It will be even more difficult for the OP to be a professional writer;
his one sentence can be > 50 words long.

Ah yes the ultimate loss porn collection. LOL
