Ideal specs for daytrading PC

Thanks for reply , but yeh I had realised a higher spec on everything would speed up the scanning , but I suspect there is a specific resource that is the first to reach capacity when scanning , I'd be surprised if it's multi monitor support.Of course with same spec a faster chip will always be faster , but is ram a limiting factor ? ssd does sound helpful though.

I checked my SSD i got this year, M.2 type. There are comparisons on youtube vs that and standard ssd's. ram is really important, i had my 16gb keep capping out on a 4x multi monitor. i have 7 monitors now, 3x ultrawide screens, with 32 gb and ram goes slightly over 16gb cap sometimes but if i only had 16gb i would be totally screwed. i7 was made for using multiple programs at once. I use news, sterling trader pro (demanding program), charting (on chrome). my trading system is also my gaming system, i spent 1.7K USD on the computer but it'll last 7 years at least.

Charting (on chrome).

I am using browser based charting myself (Tradingview).

Chrome isn't the best browser to do so, it requires much more from your hardware in comparison to for example Firefox or Opera.

I do like Chrome as a browser, i use it myself for everything else, everything but charting. Once i started using another browser for Tradingview i notice CPU and RAM usage where lower as with Chrome so i sticked with it.

I use tradingview too, and i use chrome because each tab is receiving info individually not as a collective level vs other browsers which could cause lag/hangs/crashing.

I divided my monitor into multiple virtual monitors with virtual display manager so i am not using multiple tabs but i just have multiple windows of the browser open and at full screen at the same time.

Firefox has been doing this for a long time now

You don't need 1000 Mpbs, even 10 is plenty.

You also don't need a $2500 desktop, a refurbished desktop that costs around $500 is enough.

I spend $150 on my backup which is a refurbished HP and it does everything perfectly fine, it has an i5 3570 with 8 gb of ram, more than enough for trading.

I do have another system but i also do some heavy photo and video editing, otherwise i wouldn't even have a better PC than the refurbished HP since it would be overkill.

I have got dropped back to 3 Mbps since i have used so many data this month :banghead::D.
Tomorrow my data plan gets a reset and i go back to full speed.

For those worried about needing high speed connections, my trading platforms are running perfectly fine ...
