IB: Placing CSFB ALGO orders from Excel DDE API

It is not native to the spreadsheet template supplied by IB and necessitates VBA coding:

Has anyone managed to send across algo orders from Excel yet?

DDE is antiquated technology that Excel/Microsoft is looking to move away from in future versions.
