IB / firewall problems

I've noticed on several threads that IB TWS seems to have problems with the typical corporate firewall. Do both the browser and standalone versions have this problem?

yes. Loophole and SocksCap combination will solve your problem. The solution is documented in previous threads.

weiner speaks wisely. Any attempt to go around corporate security is very likely to totally freak someone out. Best not even to try. Dont mess with trading at work.

You don't need sockscap, just Loophole. You can set up the TWS port as a "local server" in Loophole.
