I heard this a few years ago and don't know if it's still true, but apparently Texas has a lot of pro hockey teams.

Well if you count on those ECHL/INHL (still around?) as pro teams...

Is it possible scalpers are being left with loads of tickets? There were countless games i'd watch vs teams in the sunbelt (florida, georgia, nashville, ect.) where the annoucers would say the reported attendence would be let's say 15 k but it would appear only 9k. You would look around and tend to agree with them. I don't think california is bad for attendence.

You could be correct about the scalpers. I wonder why scalpers would buy all those tickets unless they too believed that they would sell them all.

There are season ticket holders who may not attend every game as well.
