HP 2 in 1 Tablet PC-- Buy or Don't??

I'm glad to have this opportunity to diss HP. I've suffered through many HP devices. PCs, laptops, printers. Hated them all. Clunky hardware and terrible software. And if Carly Fiorina should ever appear on a ballot - which seems likely - I'll be glad to vote against her just because of her association with the company, if for no other reason.
Since there is a lot of HP hate on here, I will have to clarify that HP does not build it's own laptops. Nor does Dell or Toshiba. Almost all laptops are made by a third party manufacturer who sells to the big brands. Asus is the only brand name that is made directly from within.

I recently brought an HP but it isn't a 2 in 1. If you care anything about the quality of your laptop, you do not want to go cheap. Corners had to be cut to make laptop as cheap as they can be.

HP has different brands that represent the class of their product. The top class is the Spectre line. That's the one that I brought. The rest I heard are junk. Especially if it's cheap. My advice if you want quality, be willing to spend money for it.

Thanks! I returned the HP without even opening the box.

I'm a little late to this thread, but...

I'm looking for a totally silent computer [I guess that only means tablet? ]
and the largest screen possible

[i also need to run TWS [interactive brokers] for some part-time trading]

what are my options?

edit: just glanced at the Surface Pro, and looks interesting.
Don't know if it's fan-less though

thanks
marc

Nope only Surface 3 is fanless. Waiting to see if Surface Pro 4 is fanless(fingers crossed).

That IPAD Pro looks like a total joke. But hey, it is fanless.

Basically you already replied to yourself at least here - "can anyone advise about these HP machines? I like the fact its cheap and very portable" so if that's the case then go for it, out of curiousity how much it costs now anyway ? Something good ?
