How to make an index moving?

From 14 000 to 14 001 ?

Watch the depth, buy all the offers @ 14000
+1 contract to make it prints 14001.

View attachment 300908

Here you see the spread (Best Bid / Offer)
50,700 contracts @ 176.50
261,900 contracts @ 177.00

If you want the price to the next level,
Consume all the contracts at one price,
Then grab at least one from the next level.

There is a difference between the DAX ETF and future. The future market should be tracking the ETF even if there is some positive feedbacks going on. The ETF is a basket of stocks.
Thank you, I understand now. Do you know where i can find the data for the depth, as on your screenshot but for the dax?

You're talking about FDAX, right ?
Should be available on any platform,
But if you have none then here is the data.
https://www.eurex.com/ex-en/markets/idx/dax/DAX-Futures-139902

The best bid / ask spread is listed for each contract (maturity).

If you really want to see the depth of the market,
Further below / above the best bid and ask,
Then you usually have to pay for the data.

OP meant buying futures to move index. Not buying futures to move futures prices.
So this is a question if futures follows index, or index follows futures.

If this is the question then ...
In theory :

Stocks -> ETF -> Future
Because the ETF is made of stocks.
Because the future replicates the ETF.

But there is back and forth feedback btw the 3.

good Q.

The best person to answer this question is Nick Leeson.
He worked for Barings Bank.
Nick was a very powerful and big trader.
He was trying to move Nikkei futures but was unable to move them.

But he managed to move a very powerful and big bank like Barings Bank.
He managed to bankrupt it.
%%
Nick ''double down'' Leeson did provide a good lesson on double down payday=6 .5years in the pig pen. But he did get out of prison early+ his trading jacket eventually sold for 21,,000 pounds.
He also made it into Singapore's National Newspaper e-book\ ''Guilty as Charged''
