How to determine the strength of a trend

While I agree that tick and time based bars both have their uses, I have to call foul on your 100T and 5m example. They are nowhere near the same timeframe. A 100T chart on ES is similar to a 1m chart, not a 5m. Wouldn't your S/R levels be just as visible on a 1m chart?

I just wanted to give a clear example, so DGBrothers would
get my point.

You should have seen the 30 minute chart I was thinking of
using...hehe
 
Hey Jeff...

I'll try to be a little more fair this time...hehe

Here's 2 charts: The first is a 1 min between 8:40 and
9:30, and the second is a 100T from the same time period.

You're right, they are similiar, but I feel I can see a little
more with the tick chart.

I guess it's just a matter of preference.
