As others have pointed out, seed phrases didn't exit in 2012.
He also seems to understand that the password manager only had 30 bits of entropy.
But how would anyone know to try and hack a random password manager in the hopes that there was a seed phrase in there??? I'm not saying he is lying, but the story doesn't add up.
Password manager does not have the private key seed phrase
private key seed phrase probably on password-protected Microsoft word/excel or text file stored on a cloud storage (i.e. drop box) secured by the password manager
I remember there was a hack of last pass a year or so ago, lots of crypto assets were lost because of a similar setup above
