Housing Slump - no spill over into employment #s

i actually did some research on this over the summer and found that in some of the cities (i specially remember san fran maybe miami and san diego) that are based on housing futures there were acually a net loss of jobs from 03-06 outside of housing/mortgage industry

Why do you say there is no spillover in the jobs report? This recovery has been extremely lame with regards to (recorded) job creation and the tepid growth is fading fast.
