GOLD and CEF

A few questions from a newbie to the subject:

1. Why did the above plummet today?
2. Would LQD and GOLD/CEF generally trend together?
3. Why has GOLD fallen 20+% in last several months whereas CEF has been trending up?
4. Any recommended sites/links on gold trading?

Any help would be appreciated...

That site looks very interesting and it answered a couple of my questions above.
