To these idiots taking the poll who think that having armed guards at the gas station make them feel less safe? Then get your gas and toiletries somewhere ELSE! Fucking MORONS!
Go into a back alley and get your gas and toiletries where there is no light from bums on the street, if you feel more safe without being surrounded by guns. See how safe you feel. Idiots.

Okay, I understand the need for security in a high-risk location. But why only assault rifles when they could have used a tank? Budgetary constraints?
Back in the 1970s/1980s when there was high crime in NYC — multiple gas stations had armed guards (as did banks). Many of the gas station guards carried long guns and were off-duty cops. These gas stations were preferred locations to get gas because you knew you wouldn’t get robbed there.
Nuclear weapons? Seriously?
The reason you have things like this in a defensive stance is to prevent a situation from starting in the first place through intimidation.
So hell yes, long guns. They are more intimidating than Derringers!
