My wife's similar reactions ruined my trading for quite some time. I finally had to open another account and refused to let her see trades, but gave her regular account updates. Nothing worse than having someone else looking over your shoulder, and having your decisions infected by your wife's approval or disapproval. Removing emotional obstacles in trading is critical to success, and it will never happen when husband and wife are involved.
