Quote from PuffyGums:

I can't really see how chasing your tail with these Zen sayings is going to help anyone actually place a trade.)

They won't...

"The wise see that there is action in the midst
of inaction and inaction in the midst of action.
Their conciousness is unified, and every act is
done with complete awareness.

The awakened sages call a person wise when
all his undertakings are free from anxiety
about results; all his selfish desires have been
consumed in the fire of knowledge.

...

They live in freedom who have gone beyond
the dualities of life. Competing with no one,
they are alike in success and failure and
content with whatever comes to them. They are
free, without selfish attachments; their minds
are fixed in knowledge.

...

Those who take wisdom as their highest
goal, whose faith is deep and whose senses
are trained, attain wisdom quickly and enter
into perfect peace."

-The Bhagavad Gita

"We master archers say: one shot - one life!"

-Zen Master Kenzo Awa in Zen in the Art of Archery

This sayings won't help you to place a trade. Instead they will help you to commit yourself with this trade and to go on.

Quote from Rhythm:

" They are
free, without selfish attachments; their minds
are fixed in knowledge."

-The Bhagavad Gita

Without selfish attachments....

This is the kicker.... they teach us this in yoga and I have yet to comprehend! Can this truly be possible as we go through our daily lives trading, exercising, gardening, shopping, etc. etc. or doing whatever we do in life? Don't we do those things that we do for some reason, namely for some kind of satisfaction or positive reinforcement?

Another thought passed on in the yoga practice is that those things/situations/whatever that we most aggressively/compulsively try to accomplish are those things we most likely don't need
....in the grand scheme of things.....

Now that almost sounds contrary to my signature!!!:D :D :D

BTW, a healthy and happy 2003 everyone!

In all activities of life, the secret of efficiency
lies in an ability to combine two seemingly incompatible states:
a state of maximum activity and a state of maximum relaxation.

--Aldous Huxley

The way to take maximum advantage of a situation where you are being offered unlimited opportunities to do something for yourself is to get into the flow. The market does have a flow. It is often erratic, especially on the shorter time frames, but it does display symmetrical patterns that repeat themselves over and over again. Obviously, it's a contradiction to flow with something you are against. If you want to start sensing the flow of the market, your mind has to be relatively free of fear, anger, regret, betrayal, despair, and disappointment. You won't have a reason to experience these negative emotions when you assume absolute responsibility.

A Positive Winning Attitude =

To expect a positive result from your efforts, with an acceptance that whatever results you get are a perfect reflection of your level of development and what you need to learn to do better.
