But there is a whole world of very high quality, gourmet, artisanal tinned fish, and some of it sells at very high prices, sometimes with guarantees that the fish is canned within a very short period of time after being caught--say, for example, eight or twelve hours--and never frozen.

in some cases a frozen fish is better than a fresh fish at your butcher store.

particularly true if you forgo the cash and decide to take delivery in your front yard.

But what about other species?

Should be able to trade them in pairs.

Long salmon; short cod.

Long tuna; short mackerel.

And why the f**k are they cash-settled?

Why can't you take physical delivery? What if you actually want the damn fish?

I thought this is a hoax. But it turns out this is a real thing.

Yes, that's the Nasdaq page. Apparently the monthly futures contract is for 1000 kg of fish...

I have no idea if it's possible to trade this in a retail account LOL

The recent spot price of NQSALMON is 62.91 NOK, which is about 5.88 USD

I just noticed Salmon yesterday poking around tradingeconomics. This is a CFD of some sort it seems. I just got into eating salmon in 2019 and that does feel like the price move at the store, really sucks.
