Even Catholics Don’t Like Santorum

Even Catholics Don’t Like Santorum

Here’s a really interesting result from the Ohio primary on Tuesday: Rick Santorum lost the Catholic vote to Mitt Romney. By a wide margin. In a state with the highest percentage of Catholic voters of any primary so far, 43% of them voted for Romney and only 31% for Santorum.

“Catholic voters care more about economic issues that affect their families than they do about socially divisive wedge issues like contraception,” said James Salt, executive director of Catholics United, in the statement.

“Mainstream Catholics want leaders who can address the moral challenges of our day like income inequality, underwater mortgages and poverty,” Salt continued, “not leaders who perpetuate a never-ending culture war that divides our community.”

Whoa! This wasn't even an issue till Obamacare. Some leader, huh?

Health care is one thing. I'm upset at Obama because he didn't go far enough IMO. This went from health care to health insurance company care, wasted time and effort, even if started with good intentions.

Santorum will sink because of his extreme ideas. Even my most staunch Rep friends are going 'what?' when talking about Santorum.

+1

I think Obama thought that by using the plan a republican governor passed(Romney) and the same plan the House GOP leader tried to pass (Newt) that he would get a bipartisan bill and GOP support, after all it was their plans

Communist tendencies have existed for a long time in the catholic church, not surprising a reporter could dredge one up.

I coulda told you that. The bishops have their own agenda.

I doubt the Catholics like YOU either.

Are you a religious person? Not being personal, just wondered if you're a Catholic or person of church attendance. I don't go to Church, but respect those who do, regardless of their faith.
