Eurex DJ Euro Stoxx 50 is Rocking

you may find that trading the e50, once the US is open, is keyed off the same signals as the US markets, so you would have to examine the risk/reward of the paralell trades, to see which is better

the comm is better on the e50, but i guess for internet traders, you'd have to check latency
 
If you trade 3-3 its a 12 hour day, but keep in mind I dont scalp so its not like I am glued to the monitors, also it depends on the market that day, friday was nuts, I didnt even go out at night zzzzzzzzzzzzz I hope I can stay up to see the Tyson fight tonight on HBO. I like it when people say, someday there will be 24 hr trading, well there is.
 
I think I am in a good time zone (Australia), Eurex opens 4pm here and US stocks 11.30pm. I'm not a scalper so I do not need to be glued to the screen, however I usually wake up several times a night to check what is happening if it is busy. During the day I trade Asian products.

I only trade around the market open, market close and when there are big figures out, so it works out around 6 hrs a day watching the screen. Nevertheless, by Saturday morning I ready to turn the computer off and have a rest!
 
I assume I need data from DTB (and possibly MONEP) to track DAX and ESTOXX50. I do not see these as options to subscribe to on the market data subscriptions in IB. I do see LSE, XETRA, Swiss..

This is with a US stock/options acct. I (of course) dont trade futures with this acct., just need to track the market prices.

Are there any other insights you can offer for trading these products? Thanks,
 
It appears that with IB you (US retail customers) can trade the ESTX50 futures and get the data from MONEP for futures. However, you will need a futures account denonimated in Euros. IB doesn't allow you to subscribe to data for stuff that you can't trade in.
 
What is the electronic platform that runs the STX50 futures contract called? (I suppose Eurex?) How effective is its order matching and system responsiveness (for US customers using US based direct connect brokers) as compared with the GLOBEX eminis? I suppose the internet lag becomes a slightly greater factor.

MONEP is in France, e50 and DAX is traded at EUREX.so you only need data from the EUREX

I traded via IB from Germany ...i had a fill very fast 1sec approx)
so from US you only have the "one way"ticket:) must be faster

P.S: DTB(Deutsche Termin Börse=german derivatives exchange) is now called EUREX......
P.S.S: maybe IB will offer the multicurrency account for futures ..
so you won´t have to open a seperate account
 
Since a significant portion of Eurex volume is generated from the United States, Eurex has invested significant capital in Hub Infrastructure in Chicago and New York.

I have not noticed a difference in speed between Eurex, CBOT A/C/E, and CME Globex while trading here from the U.S..
