emini tick change???

Quote from Dr. Zhivodka:

Don't look now but the big boys are upstairs and they ARE in the mini's.

The pit bound boys are not stupid, they may live in Chicago, but they're not stupid.

Never happen.

Write it in stone.

Hell, dual trading had to be killed by a FBI sting at the CME. Then to finish it off there had to be an act of Congress, literally.

But now Rosti is not there to cover their asses.

Long live the free-market,
Dr. Zhivodka

interesting comments... might have something there

Quote from Dr. Zhivodka:

It's only for spreads.

They're not so stupid as to do it across the board. It would kill the goose.

If *you* can't afford the mini's, stick to a 100 shares of SPY's

I wasn't paying attention... this sounded too good to be true. What's a calendar spread?

You can get short the Stock!!!

It trades on the New York and it's symbol is CME.

Probably, not a bad idea!

Quote from sammybea:

is there someway to short a CME membership? I would love to if the CME reduces the tick size on the emini. Damn i would be rich!

The days of making easy money off other people's slippage are coming to an end.

Its time to learn to trade directionally - either that or go back to tending bar. :(

A smaller tick means more business is shifted to the electronic market. The CME makes much more money on electronic trades than on pit trades. This is good for CME's stock.

Plus, I believe that the CFTC is cracking down on the wider spreads that have grown in the pit as a result of the .25 emini arbitrage and pit collusion to capture more of the arb.

Good trading to all. I have no personal hostility to any of you (including Nitro) and wish you the best.

How many contracts did you trade last month?

I traded over 70,000. Not many, I know.

I've been directional (trading) and many other types of trading for many years.

Plus, I can always whip up an X-tra dry for me and the boyz.

You?

:p

Good for you!

I hope you were profitable and I hope you stay profitable with any upcoming changes.

When I first into the business I had to pick up the phone and call the floor.

I think I'll be alright.

This is when 3 (pre-split $500 contracts) S&P points was a good day.

:p
