Drawing U.S. Crowds With Anti-Islam Message

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

Biological response are autonomic.

Only a brainwashed person would not see the difference between an autonomic biological reaction to an autonomic biological cause, and the reality that human beings have a choice to accept or reject any belief system or philosophy.

Ridiculously juvenile analogy...severely flawed, but the product of someone grasping at straws when presented with the truth that only a minute percentage of all Muslims engage in acts of terrorism.
As I said the specific mechanism is irrelevant in the context of this discussion. The correlation between the cause (tick bites/Islam) and effect (lime disease/terrorism) is what matters and it's scientifically valid in both cases.

Quote from pspr:

Geez. If I were younger I'd think about enlisting in the IDF. :D

It is never too late. the Khazara Occupation Force is always looking for your type of fine sissies.

Say it as much as you like, it simply is not true.

Involuntary responses on a biological level are just not an equivalent of voluntary responses on the mental level.

Quote from a_person:

Say it as much as you like, it simply has nothing to do with the analogy. Ticks spread lyme disease even though not all ticks are infected, Islam spreads terrorism even though not all muslims are terrorists. Both statements are scientifically valid because 99% of lyme disease cases are caused by ticks and 99% of terror attacks are carried out by muslims.

Fallacy of a false equivalency.

Q: What is the equivalence fallacy?

A: An Equivalence fallacy is the error of defining distinct and conflicting items in similar terms, thus equating two items that are not, in fact, equal.

Quote from a_person:

analogy - a similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based: the analogy between the heart and a pump.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/analogy

Please pay attention - heart works on the level of biology, pump does not, yet the analogy is perfectly valid. Tick bites work on biological level transmitting lyme disease. Islam works on theological/psychological level spreading terror. The analogy is perfectly valid, case closed.
