Did IB just completely break sane API trading?

So how do people still use the IB API?

  • put up with the autorestart (risk trading blind, unable to react to the market)

  • stick it out with v972, and won't ever update

  • switched brokers

  • something else, am I missing something here?

But this isn't the only annoying hassle. Versions after 974 also force you to log in once a week, and you can't control when. Many times I missed their login prompt because I was out on a Saturday night.
