Now, another batch of letters is being delivered to more victims of what could be one of the largest breaches of medical records ever.
It involves Change Healthcare, one of the largest health payment processing companies in the world. It handles medical claims.
If you get one of these letters, it will be addressed to you at your home address and includes your full name.
It tells you that the following information may have been accessed:
- Health insurance data, including policy numbers, medical records, test results and images
- Billing insurance claims and payment data
- Social Security numbers and driver's license data
This six-page letter is legitimate – not a scam.
Change Healthcare is offering two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection. That offer is outlined in the letter.
The company still has not revealed how many victims may be involved in this breach.
