I use MBAM Spybot and Regseeker regularly. And Kapersky runs all the time
I don't think any 1 protection device can catch everything so I try to use a variety so it remains healthy.


Do you use anything for your smartphone, especially for those annoying popups ?

I don't have a smartphone so I can't recommend anything here but I noticed that a lot of antivirus software also allow you to install a smartphone version on a couple of devices. Kaspersky offers something like along these lines I think:-

Within the browser you can add an ad blocker, for example, Adblock Plus (https://adblockplus.org/) is available for Firefox and Chrome.
 
Very fast, free online virus scanner from Bitdefender:-

And if you want to pre-check a URL or file for a virus, VirusTotal is useful:-
https://www.virustotal.com/

As you can see below , ET got a clean bill of health from all 67 URL scanners:-
