It is not an "extension". It is a removal of the 15-minute halt.

Anyway I checked. This just applies to equity index futures it looks like. It does not apply to equity index options. The trading still stopped at 3:15 PM CST. Oh well that's that.

I am not sure. Is there usually activity in the final hour of trading in Equity index FOPS?
