Restaurants and gas station give discounts for cash where I live. Currency is legal tender. By law it has to be accepted.
Christmas is about giving but it doesn't mean you have to break your bank or bust your credit card limit to buy to give. I don't remember the Three Wise Kings using credit cards to buy gifts for baby Jesus.

or even gift cards, but since they did gifts, cant really complain about gift cards or cash.

MAYBE, since there is a lot of freedom in running any business.
but plenty of businesses in mid south give cash discounts, easier, faster + more reliable to handle.
But since credit carders tend to spend more + overspend/overpay= worth the extra merchant fee LOL.
Or some like Electric Co /simply add on the cc fee if not paying cash or checks
But they have a reliable cash machine , 24 hours a day.
