I kind of agree with you but ...
You don't treat it as a business.
Which is a self affirmation,
And a denaturalization.
But you embrace it.
Communication.
Harmonization.
Peace & Love.
Seriousness.
Sexiness.
I mean it's a bottom up process.
Especially with all the education bullshits.
Often one has to relearn everything to succeed.
Especially for those unacquainted with risk taking & uncertainty.
If someone wants trading to be a "job" or want their government to view the trading as "self employment" so that they can be properly taxed...
You have no choice but to treat it as a business to minimize your taxes as much as possible unless you prefer to give them more money than you should.
Seriously, make the decision that trading is
not a business and you will not spend any time managing your expenses, you will not maintain proper documentations, you will not be able to buy a car nor home if your trading is viewed as a hobby or an adventure while you have no other source of income.
Yet, if you have another job and trading is not your sole source of income, you can treat trading
any way you want. In contrast, if you want your bank, your government (taxes), private insurance (home, car, health/dental) to see your trading as a business and your sole source of income...
Treat your trading like a business just like anybody else that's self employed.
Its also a good way to minimize being audited.
P.S. The above is for those trying to trade for a living. All others, it doesn't apply.
