Look, if they were overperformers, I wouldn't care but they aren't.
I suspect they might have a second job though. Meaning possible Zoom meeting with another company at the exact same time. If they're on camera, that wouldn't be possible.
And why do I care? Well, the product I'm working on is rather complex and takes a lot of effort and long time to get proficient in it. Much easier to slack as long as possible then if shit hits the fan just disappear, especially if they already have a backup place. And who's left to pick up the pieces? The suckers who tolerated such behavior, me included.
So the time they fill a slot without contributing and then fucking off it's wasted opportunity to bring someone professional and interested. Who at least can handle having a second job transparently. Then I wouldn't care.
