BTC-e

BTC-e quotes bitcoins, buying and selling, several dollars below other quotes I get elsewhere. A one percent discount sounds tempting.

This company appears to be in Russia.
Is the exchange rate possibly the reason you can buy bitcoins for 1 percent less?
Or maybe it's riskier with this company, or country.

I currently have a Coinbase account,
and I'm actually content buying bitcoins down around $200.

They do not accept wire transfers from US banks unlike bitstamp.

lots of people have had good experiences with BTC-E. I had a good time using them extensively to convert BTC to LTC during the last run and then immediately sending the LTC to my LTC wallet.

then I ran into a technical problem and could not reach tech support for weeks. it ended up costing me about $400. could have been worse. buyer beware.

I believe it is out of Bulgaria- don't quote me- with the so-called tech operations in Thailand. no one knows who the ownership is... hmmm.
