Best ETF to short oil?

Quote from S2007S:

DCR, up nearly 40% from its lows set just 3 weeks ago.

DUG is the other choice.

DCR and UCR are also trading FAAAAR away from the NAVs....something is wrong with them.

Quote from Cutten:

USO is the best pure oil ETF.

OIH is like a combination of oil and the general stockmarket. If both go up it can do even better. If oil is up but the S&P is down a lot, the OIH may be unchanged or even down.

I agree.

If you are looking for ETFs for this and that, look up iShares, Proshares, Powershares, and Rydex. Yahoo has an ETF screener. Some like the QQQQ and SPY are most often on the most active for the NASDQ and AMEX. But the Yahoo list, has some of the ones listed are more thinly traded and you may not get the fills you want - especially I think if you do options. I don't know though, I am just guessing, because I don't trade thinly traded ETFs.

If you want to short oil, aren't you just better off buying XOM? They make more money when the inputs are cheaper. Valero and Tesoro are other pure play refiners.

No - if you want to short oil, you should short oil. If you can't short the CL contract, then short the USO. The USO tracks crude oil pretty well.
