Hi everyone,
I've always been interested in trading for a living. I'm 26 years old, I have a PhD in computer science, and I just left a well paying job as a developer for a large Wall Street firm. I moved to Miami, and now I'm looking to get into trading with my own capital. The problem is, I am certain that I live too much in the world of "theory" and lack practice, and that is why I'm here asking for your help. I was not able to trade before due to contractual agreements.
I do of course have some experience trading with my own account, I would say successfully since I have positive reruns but nothing too exotic: mainly equities, and a bit of Forex. Future scare me and I gotta work on that, and options tickle more my mathematical brain than actually my financial one, so I have to learn how to use them more effectively.
So to all experienced traders out there, what are some resources that I should look into? Any exams I may consider studying to and obtaining?
I'm eager to learn, I have the time to devote, and I am willing to bring my technical knowledge to the table should it be needed. I have immense experience with C/C++, especially with UNIX environments.
Thank you very much ahead of time.
