Are there options on SPY??

I can't find any options listed on SPY. I know there are SPX options, but i would think there would be options on SPY as well. Am i missing something??

Without out options on spy, it makes it hard for retail traders to write covered calls against the index.

Funny, i see there are options on DIA. WHy can't i pull up options on SPY?

No options because the exchanges need to get a license with Standard and Poors.

you can write against the spx.

Or the OEX options... Highly (but not perfectly) correlated and smaller than SPX options.

If you want to trade the OEX use the OEF (ETF on the OEX). instead of the SPY. This should eliminate most of your tracking error.
