Are T-bills for futures margin available again?

Is 1 year the longest tenor you'll accept? Or will you take 2, 5, 10 year paper with a haircut?

As to Rosy's question, these are current Treasury yields--
Code:
1M 3M 1Y 2Y 3Y 5Y 10Y 30Y
1.401 1.470 1.888 2.159 2.315 2.555 2.764 2.996
They will take other maturities. I don't know when the margin drops below 95%.

Thank you. Looks like you would need to pay higher commissions than you would otherwise pay at discount firms like AMP to get access to T-bills.

Not necessarily. Advantage is pretty much in par with IB in terms of commish if not cheaper. RJO is a little higher and with enough activity you can get close but in any case you get what you pay for IMO.

Well, as it turns out, AMP actually offers T-bills! Who knew? There's nothing about it on their site; you have to ask.

This will become increasingly more important--especially for larger accounts--as interest rates continue to climb.

They won’t promote it as it hits their bottom line.
