Any Singapore Traders?

I'm mulling over all the options that are under my arsenal once the traders tax becomes enacted into law. One of the possibilities is to move abroad. I initially thought of going to Europe but have since changed my mind. At the moment, Asia looks like the most suitable candidate. The countries that I'm looking at are Singapore, Japan, and South Korea as well Australia/New Zealand, of which Singapore looks most appealing. I have made my sojourn to all these countries but only as a casual traveler.

Can I get some feedback from any Yankee/western ex-pat who resides in Singapore or any of the other countries mentioned above?

I've spent a lot of time over the last 7 years in Singapore, China, Australia and New Zealand. Not that my opinion would mean anything but my choice would be New Zealand or Australia first, specifically the Vanuatu Islands.
Singapore is OK but is very expensive, sterile and there is no land. I wouldn't live in Japan if they gave me a mansion for free. South Korea is OK from what I've been told but the conflict with North Korea wouldn't make me a sound sleeper. I know a lot of Koreans that don't live in the South for that reason.
