Any ES intraday trader still actively trading? How do you find the market

It's a result of $297 loss tonight. There was one point I could break evenbut I didn't take the profit as I thought it might go further down.

A more important question is is there any good way to suggest how to examine to improve the result.This is more of what I am looking for and I come here for advise.

It calculates the number of x bars and if current bar is lower or higher then it generates a buy or sell signal

can treat it like two MA crossover.

And when it becomes less volatile like yesterday it will just end up a loss.

if you interested 'how to examine to improve the result' better to discuss your trading ideas, not individual trades. But it can be done on examples, for this purpose please post charts with your trades and explain reason why you take trades (if you are not trading blackbox system of course)


without this info only general advices can be given

1/ if you talkabout MA crossover or similar idea that means you trade momentum. Therefore you need to filter out chop price action and stay away when market is in chop. You can find valuable info here

2/ there are basically 2 independent ways to trade index if you restrict time to 2 hours after rth open. First is scalping, go for several ticks to several points and trade every session. Second is ‘seasonal’ trading, hunting for longer trends lasting 30-120 min, but it’s not possible to do every day (will be chopped) but only when big money moving with higher than usual velocity, for example when multiday high/low broken, when important trendline broken, when price bounce off multiday support/resistance – ‘seasonal’, not every day.

I highly recommend you start a trade journal here in the Journal section @ https://www.elitetrader.com/et/forums/journals.29/

Post charts via the charts you're using to make the trade decisions behind those trades or just post a chart from your broker that shows the trades on the chart.

It's a lot easier to do it that way instead of copy / paste of trade fills in the text format.

More importantly, if you're looking for help / feedback...your viewers can see a lot more visual info about what you were looking at instead of viewers looking at text format.

Yet, if you're not looking for feedback / help...the text format without charts is Ok.
