AMP Metatrader 5 server location

Funny you posted this. Tell you the truth, I think AMP is being honest about their connection. the reason I say this is because I did about 3.5 hours' worth of recording AMP's MT5 vs. AxiomaticAI's MT5. Guess which one was off? Neither. They were exactly the same. Guess which one matched CQG Desktop / CQG-Quantower perfectly? Neither. lol.

MT5 is the issue. I've been just beaming yesterday and today watching everything through my CQG/Quantower interface as I await my final fixes to be made to my charting for QT. Quantower is ridiculously fast. for the first time in awhile I actually feel like I'm seeing true market speed lol.

I make this point because Axio was very insistent on saying they are directly connected to CQG with their MT5. I don't doubt this. it's just that when I put theirs up against AMP's MT5, both quotes were directly in-step. but neither MT5 was in-step with CQG Desktop nor Quantower via CQG. I can only assume by now that MT5 itself is the issue.

regardless, it was a good breakup yesterday with MT5. onward with QT. AMP is solid as any FCM can be and the margins are unbeatable.

Yea, I'm not blaming AMP at all. But I'm sure AMP is paying metaquotes for the platform access and if they know it has issues, I'm sure they have more power to compell Meta to change or look into this.

I only care if the platform matches CQG. CQG is the datafeed so I take it as the true price. Yes, CQG has issues, but at least I want to have that synchronization between my algo platform and CQG. I can live in ignorant bliss after that when that happens lol.

Like I said, I want to move away from MT5, maybe to ninjatrader, maybe quantower, maybe multicharts..god I don't know. The process of finding a developer and "moving" is such a pain in the ass.

has been my struggle since March of last year. trust me, I understand. I haven't forgotten you on this, just letting my stuff get done first before I send you his way.

as for AMP trying to get through to MT5 - LOL. I wish AMP well with this. MT5 is not easy to reach at all and they love to dispel issues onto everyone / everything else but themselves. I'm sure you have seen this over the years as well. I don't know what it was about MT5 that was so easily romanticized (at least on my part) but damn, what a waste.

You will love QT. Give it a trial today. native market replay is in there too.

So I've ran MT5 live AMP account on 3 different platforms. MT5 (NY vps), MT5 (Chicago), and CQG desktop. This is a single bar comparison at 830a cst (13:30 MT5 time). Yellow cells indicate discrepancy between MT5 and CQG desktop price.

I'm working towards moving my algos away from MT5, but hopefully people can see what's going on. I will continue testing till this Friday

I have had this problem before myself with various brokers.

Have you considered that your MT5 settings, your algos or your computer hardware are slowing things down?

It could be the way you use MT5, how many charts you have open, even simple things like having all currency pairs shown in market watch will slow it down as MT5 needs to update prices for all those pairs and save it in the history file. (remove pairs you don't trade from the market watch list and you will most likely see a significant difference in performance)

Also since my algos are also very resource hungry I found out that during busy market hours my CPU usage was very high, even the network usage was high as the network port could not handle the amount of data passing through it. I upgraded my PC's and the problem went away.

Finally, if you are using wireless as the main or backup PC connection you should consider the quality of the signal and perhaps update your wireless router to a newer version which is more robust and has better signal range.
