AAPL - was trading in class and it jumped - what happened?

the thing about apple, is that they need the average computer user to try out their computers and they somehow need lower prices 30-40%. its tough to sell to people a $1300 desktop/lcd when they can a pretty decent pc from dell with an lcd for around $600.

The same is true of mp3 players, yet the iPod continues to sell.
