Saw a story last week where some guy tried to charge his EV with house current... and it took 5 F'n DAYS.. to charge up for 125 miles of range.

Never heard of that charge time in my life. He must have some issue with his house electrical setup.
I rented a house at the beach a couple years ago, and I had to use a regular 120V electrical outlet in the garage to charge my Tesla and it took about 24 hours to fully charge from being almost completely dead. That's the longest I've ever personally experienced.
I have the Tesla wall charger in the garage of my personal home, which has two 240V cables running into it, and that charges my car in about 4 hours.
The Tesla superchargers they have located near major interstate exits across the country charge my car in about 20 - 30 minutes.

I have seen news stories that it takes two-three days
to charge an EV.
Coupled with the State of California telling people that
it could not generate sufficient electricity for drivers to
charge their EVs, I would agree that we are not ready
for the entire population to have them.
You have 480V running into your home? Dude!
I bet your electric dryer finishes a fresh load in 4 minutes.
Would be so nice if it can be continuously charged by solar power. Our remote control that can be charged by solar power never ever needs to be plugged in. We just put it under an LED light before we go to bed and the next morning when we wake up, it's already charged. During the day, we try to put it upside down, its solar panel side up as much as possible so it always remains charged. Of course that's just a remote control but still...
I am going to guess that charging an EV in Wisconsin at 30 below takes a smidge longer than charging it in CA at 80 degrees.
