You can run more monitors than 4. If you have 2 free PCI slots and get 2 dualhead Matrox cards (G200 PCI?), that will work and for less than $100.
going off the subject a bit.. - there are a good number of posts here about mult-monitor setups but not many on the newer 42+ displays - the costs seem to be nearing parity, i.e. per square inch of "screen real estate" - what are the negatives with these bigger screens vs multi-monitor (on the positive side, i count at least no need to deal with graphics cards etc.).

I already have a dual monitor card so if I run a another that is g200 then I can run 6 on one computer
is there any amount of memory and anything else that would limit the amount of monitors?
