2560 x 1080 vs 3440 x 1440 on a 34 inch monitor for trading

I have the LG 34' curved monitor and it usually works well.
I am not sure if it is due to HDMI or what, it is not flickering but it sometimes goes dark like it is disconnected and in 2-3secs goes back on. Not sure why it happens
Got a pair of them myself a couple of years now, and Loctek monitor arms. Never go back to flat.

No black out issues of any kind ever.

These types of questions about monitors and computers that pop up every so often are kind of silly and trivial. Just get what you want, and be done with it....so you can truly focus and refine and understand your trading and make money from the market.

Focus on the true, bigger, real picture, overall, ahead...and not get distracted by smaller ideas and concepts.

lol I know its trivial that's why I posted it on ET's hardware forum.

Anyway, I got the monitor but now I can't seem to get it to receive a signal from my Macbook Air using a USB C to USB C cable. Should be plug and play. Maybe it's the cable I don't know.

The irony of this is that, IIRC, it was Apple who came up with the USB spec in the first place so you could daisy-chain devices together. I remember the original Mac, where you plugged the KB into desktop, then mouse into keyboard. Multiple devices, one port! Wheee!

4k is minimum these days.

Agree. I suggest traders try out a 43" UHD TV as monitor if they have the space. I have one and it's my favorite over my 5x, 27" UHD monitors.

Bonus... 43" TV costs < than half that of a 43" monitor.

A 43" monitor is Absurd. 5 27" monitors sounds even Crazier.

I trade and watch movies and do everything on just a 13" notebook. Even when I had my 21" or 23" monitor....that felt really, really, large and overbearing to stare at and use.

Tastes and preferences can vary -- But I prefer basic, practical, minimal, simplicity -- in all areas of my life.

My 43" TV as monitor is in my game room which I view from across the room... 15' or so and operate the computer with wireless keyboard and mouse.

3 of the 27" are in a portrait array for charts in my primary trading space. The resolution is 6480x3820. More pixels, more chart data displayed.

I like big charts, so sue me. (Besides, you don't see pictures of pro traders staring at a 13" notebook screen, now do you?) :)
