    lock in mortgage rate

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about buying a house in 1 to 2 years. Anyone know of a way to lock in a mortgage rate (at current rates), like a mortgage rate future ;) Or anyone have any idea on a reasonable way to do this? My assumption is that rates will start to rise. Thanks

tws long and short at same time

uh lol, if I was to post the strategy you would understand :) Maybe if you expand your mind to maybe understand why someone would want to hold something that is flat and be accounted to actually holding that you might actually figure something out. anyways, I'll let you continue to think you've...

tws long and short at same time

obviously this would be part of a larger strategy that would employ the fact that you are currently long 10/short 10 . I developed the strategy with the understanding that there are commissions :)

tws long and short at same time

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to go long and short an asset on TWS in the same account IE long 10 e-mini futures and short 10 e-mini futures. Obviously if you held this position indefinitely there would be no P & L. You could do this if you had two accounts, but...

    Ceo and covered put options

I've tried to do some searching but found nothing online for the following question: Can a CEO buy put options on their stock to protect the losses in the stock value. For example if I was a CEO, and owned 100 shares trading at 30, could I buy 1 put option at 25 strike (to cover the 100...

How To Build an Automated SCT Trading System (Part 2)

hey man, congratulations. Firstly, I'd say that you are right to try to trade using a very clear system that would be implemented into your automation. however, it seems to me that you must not be very confident in your ability to automate it because (if it is possible) the automation...

can finally say noob luck ran out

Hey everyone! been trading uyg/skf for a the last 4 months, and was up a nice 88% on 3000 dollars up until the latest melt down where I found myself with 400 shares cost averaged of 16 dollars when uyg was trading around 12:) Up until then, just averaging down had produced some spectacular...

How To Build an Automated SCT Trading System (Part 2)

I didn't read all your posts after your discussion of what to do about volume buildups and logging (i don't understand what change x continuation means). but if you are convinced that most peaks happen near a "volume high" you might just want to send an order in, and put a stop loss close by...

Hey everyone, I've learned a fair amount about options over the last year and I'm paper trading on TOS now. (been successful trading stocks). So basically, this is my first tos options paper trade. And I guess I was having difficulty finding a risk:reward that I liked, given implied vol...

Learning to read Price Action with P&F Charting

I've read through a lot of this thread (like the first) 60 pages, and it seems very much like this system can be automated. Has anyone tried to do so? I created a trading system that can create events given any input of data streams. ie : given a PF real time stream, each event...

this is my contribution to ET

im trying to understand your strategy, but it looks like you didn't follow your rules for july 24th, that was higher than the april 11th low, but you didn't go long. it seems interesting though, why not run it on more stocks and more time frames?

    I Hate Unsettled Money

I appreciate the prop firm idea, but I guess I haven't looked into them enough. I'll take your word on it and see what the advantages are. Overall there seem to be a lot of negatives that i've read but maybe biased.

    I Hate Unsettled Money

I guess I can clarify, are there places that allow you to trade margin without that much in your account? thinkorswim still has 1 day settling even with margin so that doesn't help me.

    I Hate Unsettled Money

thanks to everyone for their ideas. i know what margin is tradeKing won't give it to me unless i have 10k. I was looking into thinkorswim they seem to have 1 day settling. i'm not a complete noob, but I don't have that much money, i've built it from 3000 to 5500 in the last 3 months so I...

that bloomberg question got me thinking, what would it take to create an equivalent

if you have ever seen a terminal and the amount of data that they have, you'd be hard pressed to ever compete with bloomberg on a total data scale. however if you focus on a single type of product or product group you may be able to do something similar.
