    Suicide And Trading

You will only wish to suicide in the presence of binary savages who have methodically stacked 25,000+ hrs of screen-time. This is what it sounds like when I siphon the fiscal health and soul out of those who wish to venture into my ominously inverted Valhalla... Die. Thorvaldr Trollvedgen

    ES Journal - 2015

Unusually large concentrated selling of trades >50 ES contract size @ ~1:10-1:30pm CST at initial approach to 2087.5-2088.5 zone. Approximately 14.4k volume of >50 contract blocks in this 4-tick zone, ~79.6k volume all contract size in same price/time zone. Short biased up through 97.5.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

31,000 contracts moved ES 19pts. Say 3:1 buy/sell, ~22,000 buy-side. Peanuts. Or the equivalent overnight margin capacity of 5-6 hedgers on a single BB/HF desk. One can easily unload 10x+ that 22k/19pt rate to the sell-side at open during proceeding RTH. A joke when you think about it, but if...

Best vehicle to short the bond market?

As others stated, very straightforward: ZN. 1256 contract tax structure, $2.5-3/lot for basic retail on no volume, <$1000 margin, 3-5x thicker than ES, has daily notional trade value 100-150x greater than mom n pop instrument like TLT, 24hr.

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Exactly. And that is where I fall, as does streetproof (at least that is my take). IMO Nav should be fined respective to the illicit gains and banned from CME for at least a few yrs (if not expelled) for the spoofing. I'd personally vote to permanently revoke his membership. But keep it inline...

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Strong questions raised here by streetprof. I can't help but echo similar sentiment: http://streetwiseprofessor.com/?p=9337

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Last night I said the exact same thing to my wife in digust. Those guys essentially walk on egregious manipulation that had exceptional large $ consequences, no mention of clawbacks, and this guy gaming the gamers is facing serious criminal charges. Furthermore, how do Michael Coscia & Nav get...

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

First with MF. Then Knight for very short period, then settled @RJO TT (+API) + Edge Financial Technologies front-end (I thought it was ADL until getting more confirmation) RJO doesn't make sense to me: they offered dogsh*t rates when they established a proposal with me about 2.5yrs back for...

Are you a successful at home day trader with no other source of income who began with modest means?

http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?posts/3801212/ Don't post here much, by chance stumbled upon this thread. FWIW, posted the above anecdote of my trading career a couple years back. I suppose the title of this thread doesn't apply to me as I had a bit more than modest beginnings given the...

    ES Journal - 2014

Have never posted in a journal... ~55k volume cluster @ 64.25, ~40k @ 64.50 in <30 mins. Rather large inventory churn in tight spacing, worth marking down for the first potential naked approach on Mon/Tues (if it's not the daily POC). Will be looking to layer into these levels on any low/avg...

    Card to support 4 monitors

For those that are potentially in the market for a 4 connect per card, I run and recommend the PNY NVS 510. Perhaps it has already been recommended, so add me to the list. Do not be scared by the fan, it is excellent quality and essentially silent at normal operating distance. I was strictly...

    Windows OEM vs Retail

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions You can compare here. I use several features not available on Home which relate to Network/EFS. Otherwise it is identical for most user needs.

    Windows OEM vs Retail

I have purchased 4 individual OEM licenses from both Amazon and Microcenter for (2) trading and (2) personal computers. I bought from both of these sources...

NANEX- FOMC announcement shenanigans by HFT

AustinP/Clubber Lang: Sigh. CQG IC (Advantage Futures backbone) and IQFeed 5.1 had only a ~300ms differential shift per live collect on TY & ES tick, and were nearly identical on historical data parse. Both incorrect? Right. I used this data to make above commentary. I've attached a CQG/IQ ES...

NANEX- FOMC announcement shenanigans by HFT

Opening Nanex quote: "Market reaction to the FOMC news was instant. Within a thousandth of a second, the move was already over." Is this one of those ZHedge moments where an off-the-cuff exaggeration is anticipated to be easily slipped past the uninformed? I had about ~6 secs to digest and...

    ES Journal - 2013

Notice some "ET sentiment" comments above. FWIW, below are perhaps some more meaningful metrics vs finger in the wind on some random forum ... http://www.aaii.com/sentimentsurvey http://www.aaii.com/files/surveys/sentiment.xls Per 2nd link, reference the Bull-Bear spread column...

    What the Hell?

OP: You may be better off asking this question elsewhere. This forum appears to be chalk full of members with no interest in staying on-topic. It appears most need a scapegoat these days to reason their poor trading in what is simply a low vix/mature bull accumulation environment. It is...

    What the Hell?

If intra-session/short-term, a very serious error IMO that needs to be addressed. Would recommend a portfolio of strategies with relatively low-mid correlation. I can't stress enough how important it is not to tie all your risk to 1-2 bread-n-butter ideas. I would strongly wager too many...

Where do I trade Nikkei 225 (/NKD) Futures options?

Consider use of IB account, NIY symbol root. In-case you mean futures "&" options, current SGX contract is NKM3 for futures, Yen denominated. Will be listed under SGX CME. Flat futures contract is ~$4000 USD margin, ~$25/tick, 5-point increment. Respective options, which I do not trade and can't...

    Who exactly is buying?

With regards to "lack of volume" sentiment, please remember the higher we trade, the more expensive it is to purchase the same number of issues. Volume will naturally slow as a bull market matures into later stage accumulation. SP500 @ 1300 compared to today @ 1655 equates to a ~27%...
