    .001 per share at IB

http://biz.yahoo.com/cnw/060111/ct_interactive_broker.html?.v=1 I didn't see this posted yet on ET. Sorry in advance if it already was. P.S. To all the other brokers out there, lower your commissions to .002 now (with no volume minimums) while you still have a chance to retain business...

Has a Date been set when the NYSE will go Electronic?

Next summer for the full implementation I think.... http://today.reuters.com/investing/financeArticle.aspx?type=mergersNews&storyID=2005-12-16T212514Z_01_N16334231_RTRIDST_0_FINANCIAL-NYSE-HYBRID-UPDATE-2.XML

Neovest First Alert Charts Down All Day!!

My Neovest charts have been down all day. Anyone else have this problem? Apparently the J.P. Morgan merger hasn't helped Neovest's reliability. Same old crap...

    ETG's Gr8trade . . .

It's a bit suprising that ETG is bringing in Instaquote software. Never really liked Instaquote very much. It's just such a visually unappealing platform, and it has no real value-added features. Although they say it's fast (but who doesn't). One development that may have notable impact is...

    No Uptick Rule on ARCA?

Yep, and if you don't route to an away market (i.e short against ARCA's book) there is no short-sale rule.

Neovest First Alert, Any other alternatives?

Well, it WOULD be a wonder if FA Thin's quotes were 2 seconds delayed as Casey30 claims, and STILL faster than Hyperfeed's satellite feed. Hyper's sat. feed latency is approx. 600 ms (for satellite uplink/downlink time) plus 30ms for feed parsing/processing at Hyper's server farms, plus...

Neovest First Alert, Any other alternatives?

I disagree completely. I'd check your ISP because my FA Thin quotes (via the internet) are NOTICEABLY faster than my Hyperfeed satellite quotes. The quote latency over the internet is nowhere close to a few seconds. In actuality it is roughly 35-100 ms depending on your ISP plus 50 ms or so...

Displaying on Both SuperMontage and ADF

Theres a story here on www.traderbulletin.com that says NexTrade can display its ECN orders on both superMontage and the ADF. Does displaying on both venues actually help, or improve fills. If so how? Mind you NexTrade isn't the world's most liquid ECN to begin with.

    Comission and Bullet Rates

Yeah but they still have to be cancelled manually by the specialist's clerk. It definitely takes more than a few seconds on average to get an out, especially for 100 stocks.

    Comission and Bullet Rates

Who are these "many" firms that offer .003 to "average" volume day traders? I don't know of any. And where are all these people doing 2000 share lots?? All the traders I know are averaging 300-600 at a time, 1000 tops. Hell, the average trade size on Nasdaq is only about 500 shares. And...

    Comission and Bullet Rates

Ticker, If you think the phrase "you get what you pay for" doesn't apply to trading stocks then you've obviously never: -> traded with slow-ass software, -> had a firm shut down on you, -> experienced persistent busy signals and hold time at "trade support" -> had 3-4 day turnarounds...

    Comission and Bullet Rates

If you're really doing 20-25 million shares a month then .003 is understandable. For the rest of us, .003 is a pipe dream. Any broker that would offer under .005-.006 per share for all but the biggest traders is either: (a) desparate for business to stay afloat, (b) close to insolvency...

    Pairs Trading Charting

Actually, First Alert thin can do this. I have spread charts set up right now. I used to feel the same way about thin but I've noticed that their data and reliability is a lot better now. I think it's because they've finally transitioned their data centers to handle all the new remote users...

    Lynx Capital Partners

If you join a non-NASD proprietary firm (like Lieber & Weissman for example) you generally only need the series 7. NASD firms, like Hold Brothers, also require the series 55 (and some the series 63) to trade professional leverage (firm capital).
