Can people recommend a reputable prop firm with minimum deposit required? I am looking to start and my expectations are realistic. Just looking to get the ball rolling. Not only source of income. I trade Forex retail and do well. I have prop exp with Bright and Broad Street (no defunct). No...

Anything better than ATR for stop setting

Agree 100% and size accordingly so hat you acceptable dollar amount loss is not exceeded by hitting that stop. Personally, I have found using the ATR stop to be the worst strategy for me.

The Best Prop Firms top 10

Explain how the registration protects traders. Presumably the firms follow some rules but how is your deposit protected? What is the risk to a trader beyond the deposit? How does this registration protect a trader?

The Best Prop Firms top 10

Why isnt the answer to more regulation, licensing, high commissions and low margins FOREX? Doesnt FOREX offer everything equities do not? Or is it human nature to want to be "right" and pick a winning stock?

    Prop firm Monthly payout

Opening Orders Only --- what a great way for an arcade to start its day. Its genius. Within minutes, traders have hundreds of orders executed firmwide. Its a great business model to get the bills paid via commissions within the first 5 minutes of the day. The rest of the day is gravy.

Which Prop Firms provide the best mentorships and training?

Here is the bottom line. Any trader inquiring at a prop firm asking about training should ask for proof. If a prop firm claims "everyone is making money" then show the PL's. No PL then it didnt happen. Bright's mentors (some) claim they make extraordinary income. Maybe it is true but no PL...

I know this topic has been done to death but as times change and the ever increasing changes on the equity side with licensing for prop traders, commissions, ECN fees, HFT etc I would love your take on trading FOREX advantages and disadvantages to stocks. PS: Im too new to FOREX to know of...

CBSX Registration for Firm or Trader?

Yea, its starting to look like a shady business. You put your money on the line, the prop firms charge you huge fees then leach on you for educational fees...then give you a payout on your money because regulators want that.

CBSX Registration for Firm or Trader?

Great input all. It looks like there are very murky waters these days and everyone looking for loopholes. It also looks like the real risk for a trader is your risk deposit and how you may or may not be able to treat your expenses. There is no mention of regulatory risk for the trader...

    Should You Daytrade?

Start a small business, plunk $100k or more into it and have, at least statistically, less than a 15% chance to survive. Try daytrading if it is your ambition. You can start with $10k, no inventory, no rent, no economy to be concerned with, no employees. If you are successful, build the...

CBSX Registration for Firm or Trader?

What is the risk to the trader of the non registered firm as far as regulators are concerned? Wouldnt they be a "customer"? There is a lot of talk recommending traders only go to CBSX firms but why? Is it for more safety of risk deposit and withdrawals or is it a regulatory issue (to the...

So, if you have, say, 4 good setups

I go with my best now. I tried going with all the setups with the thinking that ten four 250 share positions in my strategy were the same, or better, than one 1000 share position. I found it not to be profitable for me. I go with my best almost all the time now with a much better success...
