I think it really depends. I use TOS. My commission to buy 1 contract is $1.5. Assuming the spread is $0.10, I have to pay 10+1.5+1.5=13 for each contract. If I buy 100 stocks, I will have to pay $5 in commissions (each way) + about .2 cents in spread, which is =$12. This is slightly less...

if you are on TOS, you can chat with the community there... which is quite large.

well there was some movement today, but the volume was still pretty low. Any idea why? you still believe that the big move has yet to come? if so, I am curious to hear why...

It is still a bit early, but it seems that it is not exploding at all... very boring actually. My feeling is that the DOW at 10k seems to be a good territory and we are going to see this number quite a few more times.

I am a bit suspicious of the theory that low volume means big movements the day after. Does anyone have any evidence on this? or what would be the logic?

it is still flat... those numbers are fake. The point is that if you buy after hour with a market order, you are probably going to pay much more than what you were expecting. Lots of people do that (probably amateurs). And then it looks like the price of the stock changed... but if you wait few...

that is probably just a spike because of the big difference within the bid-ask price.
