    Well, I suppose you could start by realizing that the optimal investment strategy for two people that vary in age, by what I would assume to be atleast 25 years, ought to be very different. I.E. Different risk/return objects and wildly different time horizons. Just a thought.

    I think it has more to do with the fact that the ultimate arbitrator of value is what someone is willing to pay. Given the inelasticity of oil, we will not see a price correction without viable alternatives.

    You forget that a major reason that gas prices are cheaper in the states than in europe is because american taxdollars go towards paying for the importantion of gas.
