    Just2Trade, Zecco?

Thanks - I went with Zecco. Just2Trade seems bad - I mean you have to call their Customer Service line if you forgot your username or password - you can take a high school kid to code a simple password retrieval program. (SogoTrade charges an additional 1/2% of the Principal for Shares under $1)

    Just2Trade, Zecco?

What do you think about these brokers? Just2Trade is $2.50 per trade and Zecco is $4.50. I'm thinking of opening an account to trade (not day-trade, but buy and hold) high volume penny stocks. So I need a broker that 1. Charges a flat fee per trade 2. Doesn't charge extra for trading...

    Middle Office At Bulge-Bracket?

Is this a good thing to ask a hiring manager? It's basically telling him/her that you don't want to work for him/her long term and that you just want the position to move up to front-office.

    Middle Office At Bulge-Bracket?

I thought being a Clerking / Trading Assistant was a middle office job? Isn't the only front office job Trade Execution? After all, that is what generates revenue.

    Middle Office At Bulge-Bracket?

What about going to MBA school and then trying to get a front-office internship from there? Would that still look bad on the resume for MBA school? His grades are alright, 3.4+.

    Middle Office At Bulge-Bracket?

Well, he is right out of college. Would it be better for him to work in the Middle Office for now, and talk to HR about moving to the Front Office when they hire college grads from next year's graduating class? In effect, he'd spend about a year in the Middle Office, and then move to the...

    Middle Office At Bulge-Bracket?

Hi, One of my friends just got offered a middle-office position at a bulge bracket. (Clearing/Settling trades, etc). How hard is it to move from middle-office to front-office at one of these large companies? Thanks.

    How Hard Is It...

To go from a prop firm (or "prop shop") to Institutional S&T at a company like Lehman, Goldman, etc? How hard is it to do that vs get into Institutional S&T straight out of college (Undergrad, top-25)? Hiring season is all but over and I fear that I will be unemployed come graduation :(

    Sat?!

So, D.E. Shaw and First NY both require applicants to submit SAT scores with their application. How is a test that someone took 4 years ago pertinent to trading? What are they looking for, exactly? Is there a cutoff? Should I...take the test again??

Day Trading With Short Term Price Patterns and Opening Range Breakout, by Toby Crabel

What's the big deal about this book? Wikipedia states that it can be found on eBay for upwards of $1,000 a copy. I searched and yeah, it's not cheap! So what's so great about this book? I actually have it in e-book version. I mean it's written in 1990, before the boom of the 90s and the...

Prop Firms (W/Salary) For College Grad?

Hi, I am a senior at Carnegie Mellon double majoring in IS and Business, with a 3.34 GPA. My primary major is in a technical discipline (IS), so it appears that a lot of companies want to hire me for IT positions, which I don't want. I am looking to start for a true prop firm in NYC that...
