I'm just trying to help to improve the quality of IB and their software. I think IB should build a formal bug tracking system so we can report it in a way we can directly pass the case to the specialists who are in charge of it. The "web ticket" way seems to be too awkward and inefficient.

Not to say it would distract too much from trading. It's hard to calculate the right amount when the price is volatile. I think a proper sweeping system built-in TWS is the proper way to do. IB still lags behind when it comes to forex trading.

If you were charged a commission why don't we just do it ourselves in TWS? It has no difference, hasn't it? Or do they charge you without minimum commission?

Yes your solution works but with some drawbacks. You pay double commission if you do it in "buy 100k sell 101k". It may still not worth it if your balance is quite small. I think we just have to bite the bullet until IB offers us a function to manually close out residuals. I don't think IB...

I know some Hong Kong based brokers which are very cheap. Stock commission only around 0.03-0.04% of trade value. That is after negotiation and without the need of trading in very large volume. There are also some others who charges at 0.05-0.06% (standard plans, no negotiations required)...

Er! You don't want your money? :p I hate seeing residuals sitting there accumulating debit interest (or forgoing credit interest) but not so much to discard them. :D

That sounds fine. I wish IB could provide this service which let me close out small residuals without commish perhaps via account management. The rates would be day-end. This increases the flexibility of currency management.
