Sorry guys for being so vague, what I am really referring to, are hedge funds strategies. What form do most of their event based strategies consist of? Is this the kind of trading that a regular online investor can engage in? I think it makes more sense as an online investor to bet on one time...

Given a choice between liquidity and basis risk, futures markets tend to choose institutional arrangements that favor liquidity. My question is ---- who is most impacted by this...and why would maximizing liquidity be more important than minimizing basis risk? ...thanks

I go to Baruch College, semi target? 3.3 gpa with investment banking experience at a boutique ibank and I'm a soph/junior. What things can I do now to gain an edge further down the line in terms of a career in trading? Any advice would be immeasurably helpful...thanks
