    EchoTrade offers new software

No. It doesn't have anywhere near the filtering capability of First Alert.

    Don Bright's OO YTD Results-WOW!

Assuming your numbers are correct (or close), you did nothing wrong and everything right. Somebody has to hold this guy accountable. This opening-only BS is fools gold. The specialists know people play this game. That and the fact that everyone and their dog are playing this idiotic...

    Bright trading new commission model

Miami is at 1/2 cent according to a person I know that trades from that office. In response to competition, Bright has been closing offices (or considering closing offices) and cutting their rates quite a bit. Their main problem though, like 9 out of 10 firms in the industry, is antiquaited...

NYSE Execution -- Interview w/ John Wheeler

Nitro, You're way off base here. Pennies and pennying discourage the placement of limit orders. Without limit orders there is less transparency, less liquidity, trading inefficiency, and more needless volatility. That's the point Wheeler is making--and he's right on the money.

Turn the NYSE into an ECN

Looks like the NYSE may becoming more ECN-like after all. www.traderbulletin.com reports that the NYSE is moving to automatic quoting. Not sure if this means automatic cancels too. Hope so!

    The Best Commission Rate Ever

Your argument and analogy are flawed. --> The stock market is a thousand times more efficient than a blackjack table. The trader's edge is declining while the players edge has been constant for years. --> The upside of a good strategy is far greater in the limitless potential of the...

    Sterling Trader Pro

Hyperfeed is an outstanding data feed and within 70 ms of any NDQS direct feed I've ever seen. Perhaps EchoTrade (Pax) has overtaxed servers or poor connectivity. I too have heard many complaints of slowness and other data problems with Sterling from EchoTraders, so it is a possibility.

Turn the NYSE into an ECN

Do you really think that occasional price improvement offsets all the times that the specialist jacks you? Is there a way you trade that maximizes your chances of price improvement? If so, how do you do it?

    Fastest NYSE Executions?

The only problem is that tightass exchanges like the CHX don't allow professional traders to use their auto-ex system.

    Size

My understanding is that most people see SIZE as an aggregate of all orders at a specific price. Is there a way (by subscribing to Totalview for example) where you can view every single order at the same price?

    Heartland Securities Bankruptcy

Hmmm. I saw this at www.traderbulletin.com and that URL seems to work okay. Maybe I typed in the URL code wrong or something. On another note, I heard Schoenfeld didn't buy Heartland, but instead simply took some of their traders.

    Heartland Securities Bankruptcy

Supposedly Heartland declared bankruptcy. Can any Heartland traders confirm this? Saw the story on http://www.traderbulletin.com Guess the Watcher software co. may be for sale...not that anyone would want to buy it. G.

    Gr8trade vs. REDI+

ETG recently left Speer Leeds to switch to Instinet clearing. I've heard that, overall, ETG's traders dislike Instinet's Gr8Trade (portal) software. Are there any ETGers here that can compare the two patforms?

    SuperMontage vs. Instinet

If SuperMontage ever gets post trade anonymity and pegging, INCA and ARCA may suffer.

    Comission and Bullet Rates

Could not agree more Vol. Ask all the guys having REDI+ and Sterling problems lately if they'd rather save 1/10 penny or have platforms that work consistently and reliably.

    Andover Takeover

Hmmmmm. Now where have I heard bold predictions like this before? From Don Bright after Goldman bought SLK perhaps????? Still waiting for the fireworks......

    Comission and Bullet Rates

Jack do you trade listed stocks? If so, how do you get outs on 100 cancels in a few seconds? NYSE cancels are all manually processed by the specialist aren't they?

    Brights Ratings

A lot of people are complaining that the new Tibco version of RediPlus is pretty buggy. Does it seem strange to anyone else that Goldman Sachs still hasn't solidified RediPlus's stability after two years?

Is Bright moving to Instinet clearing?

Hahaha. Yeah right. Looks like Bright's affinity for SLK is erroding like the Malibu coastline. Maybe it's because SLK's pricing isn't competitive or maybe its from all the negative press about REDI+. Gr8trade will likely give them a "passable" alternative to REDI+ for Nasdaq traders...

    Bright Trading

To be honest Don, it kind of bugs me that you try to take credit for Bright's profitable traders in general. A large number of Bright's successful traders either: (a) already knew how to trade before they came to Bright, (b) were taught by someone other than "Don the All-knowing" such as an...
