Need help with NinjaTrader chart. Can someone assist?

What data feed are you connecting to? If your feed does not support historical tick data, you won't get a chart to fill up. I strongly urge you to post at the Ninjatrader forum, they have incredible support for lightning fast responses 99% of the time.

What is correct symbol mapping for ICE and IB on Ninja

I"m having a hell of a time figuring out how to get Ninja to trade Brent crude. It trades on ICE Europe. Ninja is trying to help, but so far no luck. I'm trading through IB. Is anyone out there trading COIL (Ninja symbol is BRN) on IB through Ninja? If so, what is your setting for symbol...

    Jack Hershey Method Since 2008

Reduke nailed it. I was with Jack about 5 years ago with a small group in Tucson. The final day of the "training" was supposed to be Jack trading live. The only thing he did was sort of talk through what he was seeing on the chart. Never even made an attempt at stating where specific entries and...

Who offers true tick by tick backtesting

MarketDelta trader is a footprint with DOM, it has nothing to do with autotrading.

Who offers true tick by tick backtesting

Yes I did try it, then scanned the NT forum and started asking questions. The bottom line is that during a backtest, the finest data resolution available is OHLC for the bars in the chart. The net result is that entries occur 1 bar late in the backtest (compared to where the entry would be on...

Who offers true tick by tick backtesting

Perhaps, but it looks like it would be extremely difficult to code it. Other platforms (like Neoticker, MarketDelta, IRT) don't have to fool with multiple timeframes. If some one could point me to some sample code for something like the following I'd certainly give it a go... So, lets say...

Who offers true tick by tick backtesting

I was bummed out to find that NinjaTrader can not do this. As an example of what I mean, let's say system signals to go long X ticks above prior bar high. Ninja, supposedly (I haven't tried myself) will execute this correctly in a live situation, but in backtesting, the fill comes actually on...

    Dr. Brett Steenbarger

And he is also a superb analyst AND trader. He deserves credit for the whole enchilada. All one has to do is carefully study the thousands of blog posts he made and you'll see just how much good stuff he shared. Read between the lines and you can even take away a good bit of proprietary stuff he...

    Dr. Brett Steenbarger

Lucias, I couldn't agree with you more. I met Brett and worked with him for just a bit (professionally, not as a trading student/client). Brett is classy, caring, sharp and someone you can trust.

Constant Volume Bars w/ 1 min data?

In order to construct TRUE (meaning accurate) CVB's you MUST have tick data. If you take the time to think it through, you'll easily understand why. IQ Feed now provides up to 120 days of tick data for download. Beyond this, I know of no data provider which offers more tick data (at least not...

200,000 Americans killed each year by Prescription medicines/drugs

You might want to dig a bit deeper yourself, FP. Prescription related deaths are not usually due to abuse. They tend to come from errors in administration, poor testing procedures, mis-diagnosis, and just pure greed on the part of SOME health care practitioners. Additionally, you are VERY...

Is it too late to qualify for 60/40 taxes??

Wow, your cpa is an IDIOT! Look at this from the instructions for 6781 on IRS website: Purpose of Form Use Form 6781 to report: • Any gain or loss on section 1256 contracts under the mark-to-market rules, and • Gains and losses under section 1092 from straddle positions...

    IB / software package

To do do what specifically? IB comes with basic charts and order entry, so you don't really need anything else (unless your specific needs dictate otherwise).

    Tax Reporting on Futures?

Fortunately, this form is really easy to fill out. You don't even fill in your trades. Take the total from the bottom and put at right place on next form:)

    Tax Reporting on Futures?

No, futures transactions most definitely can NOT be reported as stock transactions. As above poster mentioned, use the proper form. In futures, you don't report on a transaction by transaction basis. Instead, you basically state the beginning and ending account balance.

Now Trade the Asia Pacific Markets at OEC

Anyone know of a US broker that offers trading on the SMX? (Singapore Mercantile Exchange). IB offers SGX, but doesn't list SMX, and I'd love to trade gold and oil in the evening (midwest based).

    Transcendental Meditation

I'm too lazy to read the whole thread, but this is an area I have some, small amount of expertise and experience in. You don't need TM, a method, a manual or anything. Just get comfortable, take note of your breath in, then your breath out, when some random thought comes into your...
